The 122nd IEEE Region 8 Committee Meeting, convened in Vienna, Austria, from March 2nd to March 3rd, 2024, included the active participation of the IEEE Technology Center for Climate (ITCC).
Clara Neppel, the Head of ITCC, introduced the Center and showcased recent initiatives, notably highlighting the success of the ITCC / Reuters Events webinar series. Titled “Empowering the Green Tech Revolution: From Design to Deployment,” the series garnered significant interest, attracting over 6,000 registered participants and 3,000 new connections for IEEE.
The six partnership-building webinars were organized from September 2023 to February 2024 and covered six key themes on how technology contributes to climate goals and sustainability:
- Episode 1: The Promise of Electrification (13/09/23)
- Episode 2: The Impact of Frontier Technologies on Climate (11/10/23)
- Episode 3: The Progress on the Green Digital Transformation (9/11/23)
- Episode 4: The Technical Workforce for a Sustainable Future (14/12/2023)
- Episode 5: The Practical and Scalable Implementation of a Circular Economy (24/01/24)
- Episode 6: Tools and Methodologies for Climate-Related Assessment and Reporting (28/02/24)
