HORIZON-CL5-2023-D3-01 (Horizon Europe)

DC4EU is an Horizon Europe Framework Programme-funded project on the role of High-Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) & Direct Current (DC) technologies to reach the EU 2050 climate targets. DC4EU was set up to support the SET Plan Implementation Working Group on HVDC and DC technologies (DC IWG).

IEEE – through its branch the IEEE Technology Center GmbH – is a consortium partner in the project together with KU Leuven (Belgium, project coordinator), Danish Technical University (Denmark) and Supergrid Institute (France).

The DC4EU project aims to engage with targeted stakeholders (e.g., scientific and industry community, policy makers, consumers, etc.) to create awareness about HVDC and DC technologies, their importance, requirements, existing gaps and ways to address them, regulatory evolution needs, addressing also societal concerns about health and safety; the project further aims to  disseminate related knowledge through the development of appropriate material and events.
