An IEEE delegation participated at and contributed to several sessions of the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2023 organized in Kyoto. The Planet Positive 2030 Chair Maike Luiken spoke at the IGF main session on sustainability and environment on October 11, 2023, introducing IEEE’s related work, addressing also the role of standards. Further connections were established with IGF Youth (Germany and Brazil among others) and follow-up discussions are planned to link these communities with the IEEE Young Professionals Task Force on Climate Change and Sustainability.
